For the second time in as many nights, the Osoyoos Coyotes allowed three quick goals at the beginning of a period.
The Kelowna Chiefs broke a 1-1 tie by scoring three times in a span of just 2:31 to start the second, enroute to a 5-2 victory, Saturday in Osoyoos.
Soren Brons-Douville got the Coyotes on the board first, converting an opening period breakaway.
The Chiefs countered by potting the next five, before Russell Weatherhead’s third period powerplay goal from the blueline.
Kelowna outshot Osoyoos 40-33, with Matthew Sowinski absorbing the netminding defeat.
It was at times a feisty affair between a couple of well-known rivals.
Despite finishing the pre-season winless at 0-4, the Coyotes remain confident that success will be the end result of staying true to the process.
