The Osoyoos Coyotes are quickly gaining the reputation of just a first period hockey club.
Even with a 1-5-1-0 early season record, the Coyotes have been either tied or down by only a goal after 20-minutes of every game. However, the wheels seem to fall off after that.
A prime example of such was Saturday night’s 9-2 drubbing at the hands of the Sicamous Eagles.
Despite a 15-4 shot deficit in the opening period, Osoyoos trailed just 3-2, thanks to goals from Jonas Bourchier and Nelson Webster (pictured above).
The Eagles went on to score the next six unanswered, four in the second and two more in the third, to cruise to the lop-sided win.
Hunter Arnsten suffered the netminding loss. Final shots were 46-20 in favour of Sicamous, whose stronger talent was quite evident, with the Coyotes becoming more disengaged further into the blowout.
It doesn’t get any easier from here. The five-game homestand continues next Saturday night (Oct. 14th) at 7:00 when the Bill Ohlhausen Division leading Princeton Posse come to town. Game Sponsor is Otter Co-op.
