Kole Anderosov gave the Sun Bowl plenty to cheer about on Friday night. The 16-year-old goalie stopped 33 of 34 shots, a .971 save percentage, as the Coyotes battled the Langley Trappers to a 1-1 tie through 65 minutes before falling 2-1 in a shootout.
Anderosov was a Prince George Cougars third-round pick, 63rd overall, in the 2025 WHL Prospects Draft, and he played like it. He was at his best when Langley pushed hardest, turning aside all 15 shots in the third period and helping the Coyotes kill off all four Langley power plays.
Izayah Zaharko opened the scoring at 7:03 of the second period, with Deegan Bert picking up the assist. Langley tied it late in the second on a goal by Ethan Caruso, and neither team could find a winner after that. The Coyotes outshot the Trappers 36-34. In the shootout, Anderosov stopped two of three Langley shooters, but Bryson Patkau’s goal held up as the winner.
It was a tight, hard-fought game and a well-earned point in front of 401 fans.
A big thank you to the Osoyoos Golf Club for making Friday Golf Club Member Night, and to every member and fan who came out to support the team.
Up next: The Coyotes head out on the road to Beaver Valley on Sunday, Nov 1 (3:00 PM), Fernie on Friday, Nov 6, and Kimberley on Saturday, Nov 7. Then they’re back home on Tuesday, Nov 10 at 11:45 AM against Grand Forks for the School Day Game.
