Coyotes Dig Deep to Ground the Rockets!

Like practically everyone else of late it seems, members of the Osoyoos Coyotes have been battling illness.  However, despite a number of players not feeling their best, they still managed to pull off an impressive 5-2 victory over Golden, Saturday night at the Sun Bowl Arena.

It took just 37-seconds to get on the board, thanks to a Zach Park tally.  Exactly three minutes later, Jack Henderson made it 2-0 for Osoyoos, a lead that held up until late in the second period, when former Coyote Kole Giesbrecht potted his first of two goals.

Less than a-minute-and-half later, Garrett Kurtz restored the two goal lead with his first junior hockey tally, putting Osoyoos ahead 3-1 after 40 minutes.

Carter Yarish and in the dying seconds Payton McDonald-Corea into an empty net, playing in his first game since returning from Junior “A”, helped to salt away the gutsy effort.

Rhett Harkot earned the win in net.  The Coyotes outshot the Rockets 42-33 during an entertaining game that was often quite physical.

Osoyoos next hosts the division leading Princeton Posse on Wednesday, November 23rd at 7:35 pm, whom they trail by seven points, while holding two games in hand.  Everyone attending is encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item or cash donation to the game as the Coyotes and Game Sponsor, Valley First, team up to “Feed the Valley,” in support of our local food banks.
