Coyotes Overcome Third Period Deficit to Take Out Kelowna!

Osoyoos has certainly coined the phrase ‘home ice advantage.’  The Coyotes won their 15 straight game at the Sun Bowl Arena, defeating the Kelowna Chiefs 5-3 on Friday night.

Trailing on three different occasions, the Coyotes scored three unanswered third period goals for their league leading 24th win to go along with 53 points.

Ethan Floris (1G/1A) tied the game 3-3 on a powerplay, 1:19 into the third.  Evan Dean’s unassisted effort with just 3:43 remaining in regulation time proved to be the game winner, followed by a Jack Henderson empty net goal.  Henderson also tallied back in the first period, with Crae Dawson scoring in the second while on the man advantage.

Osoyoos outshot Kelowna 33-20, including 11-3 in the third period, a time when the Coyotes usually begin to pull way from their opponent.

The once a season game at the Oliver Arena is Sunday, January 16th at 1:35 pm against the North Okanagan Knights.
