It took the Chase Heat just 39-seconds to get on the board. However, before the period was out, the Coyotes scored the next six straight, en route to an 8-3 victory, Friday night at the Sun Bowl Arena.
The 6-1 first period included a franchise high 36 shots for one period. The final shot tally was an astonishing 68-19 in favour of Osoyoos, also a team record for shots-on-goal over 60 minutes.
Alex Ochitwa had two goals, with Payton McDonald-Corea, Nathan Hannon, Ethan O’Rourke, Noah Eisenhut, Kaleb Kremp and Johnny Jenkinson adding singles.
Kenny Gerow earned the win in his goaltending debut, stopping 16 of the 19 shots he faced.
The Coyotes look to make it a prefect weekend when they visit the Kelowna Chiefs on Saturday night.
