Jarrod Gale’s second goal with just 4:38 remaining lifted the Osoyoos Coyotes to a 2-1 victory over the Border Bruins on Friday night in Grand Forks.
Gale converted a beautiful behind the net feed from Ethan McKinney to put home the game winner.
The Coyotes trailed 1-0 after the first before Gale tied things 1-1 from Tyler Badger, near the midway point of the second period.
Rhett Harkot and Tayton Stewart shared the goaltending duties, with Harkot beaten just once, while Stewart was flawless.
Osoyoos outshot the Border Bruins 36-30.
The two teams play the second game of their exhibition home-and-home, Saturday night at 7:35 at the Sun Bowl Arena.
