Kenny Gerow turned aside all 24 shots to record his second straight shutout in helping the Coyotes paste North Okanagan 7-0 on Wednesday night at the Sun Bowl Arena.
Ethan Floris (1G/1A) opened the scoring on “Christmas Toy Toss” night, initiating a multitude of stuffed animals and the like to hit the ice.
Kaleb Kremp tallied twice (2G/1A), with Crae Dawson (1G/2A), Johnny Jenkinson (1G/2A), Ryan Bester and Josh Bourchier rounding out the scoring. Ethan McKinley added three assists.
Osoyoos did look sloppy inside its own zone at times, however Gerow was always there to bail out his teammates when called upon. The young netminder has a remarkable streak of not allowing a goal in the last 172:04, more than eight-and-a-half periods.
The win moves the league-leading Coyotes seven points ahead of second place Summerland atop the Bill Ohlhausen Division. (14-2-1-2) Osoyoos visits the Steam on Friday night.
