Coyotes Widen First Place Cushion Over Summerland!

The Bill Ohlhausen Division leading Coyotes moved nine points ahead of the second place Steam with a 5-2 victory, Friday night in Summerland.

Kenny Gerow lost his lengthy shutout streak less than a-minute-and-a-half into the game, which certainly didn’t phase the players in any way.  The two teams actually combined for four goals in the opening 7:35, before things settled down, resulting in a 2-2 tie after 20 minutes of play.

Osoyoos scored the lone second period goal, adding two more in the third to pull away in the latter stages as it often does.

Ethan Floris, Luke Chakrabarti (1G/2A), Jack Henderson (1G/1A), Kalem Kremp (1G/1A) and Ethan O’Rourke (1G/2A) provided the offence.

The Coyotes outshot the Steam 40-30, including 17-7 in the third period, en route to their fifth straight win.

The Osoyoos Coyotes have the rest of the weekend off before travelling to North Okanagan next Tuesday (Dec. 7th).
