Posse Gains Confidence by Upsetting the Coyotes!

For the first time since November 13th and only time at home all season, the Coyotes lost a game in regulation.

A strong third period, aided by a number of powerplays, helped Princeton hold off Osoyoos 4-3 (before a season-high crowd of 368), Saturday night at the Sun Bowl Arena.

The Coyotes trailed 1-0 after the first, but rallied for three straight goals in the second period in span of just 5:40 to go up 3-1.  Jack Henderson tallied twice on the powerplay, with Johnny Jenkinson adding a single.

The Posse countered Jenkinson’s marker only 18-second later and scored two more in third for the win.

Credit Princeton for a hard fought victory, albeit Osoyoos looked flat for most of the contest.  Despite outshooting the Posse 32-24, the Coyotes uncharacteristically managed just four shots on goal the entire third period.

Kenny Gerow suffered the loss in net, his only regulation time blemish this season.

Head Coach Carter Rigby called the effort a ‘wake up call’ for the Coyotes, who face Princeton in a Bill Ohlhausen Division, Best-of-Seven, Semi-Final playoff series, beginning Tuesday night at 8:05 in Osoyoos.
