Osoyoos Dominates Summerland in First Place Showdown!

The latest battle for top spot in the Bill Ohlhausen Division was a decisive 6-2 victory over the Steam, Tuesday night in Summerland.

The Coyotes led 3-0 after the first, but penalty troubles allowed the Steam to claw their way back into the game, making it 3-2 by late in the second period.  Osoyoos tallied once more before the period was out, before adding two more goals in the third to seal the win.

Noah Eisenhut, Johnny Jenkinson, Jack Henderson, Alex Ochitwa, Payton McDonald-Corea and Nathan Hannon scored for the Coyotes.  Osoyoos outshot Summerland 44-31 overall.

One disturbing statistic from the game was a constant parade to the penalty box as the Coyotes were accessed 43 minutes in penalties compared to the Steam’s eight, with suspensions likely forthcoming as a result.

Osoyoos now leads Summerland by three points, while still holding a game in hand.  The Coyotes will attempt to increase their first place cushion on Wednesday night, when they host the Kelowna Chiefs at 7:35 at the Sun Bowl.
